"Working hard is important, but there's something that matters even more. Believing in yourself. Think of it this way: Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than we are now. Students. If they can do it, why not us?"

I still remember the day Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone came out in theaters I didn’t care about it.  I never knew what the movie or book was about. My family took me to see it in theaters and I was not excited at all. After the movie ended I was blown away! I became a fan without knowing as much as every other fan knew. Years went by and so did the films. They kept getting better with each viewing. I could do a marathon every once a month without getting bored or read the books without stopping. Now getting older I realize how relatable the characters are to every human in the world. We all have been around every one of these types of traits. The know-it-alls, the brave ones, the scared ones, the rich kids, weird kids, and even the ones who can’t stick up for themselves. All of the films/books are not just about the fight between good and evil like every book young adult that became popular. It’s about love, friends, family, conquering fears, growing up, embracing who you are no matter what, and the past never changes the future. Every movie shows these points all the time which shows that just because its fiction doesn’t mean it can’t be relatable. Everyone has their different views on which house is better. Some love Gryffindor for courage, some love Slytherin for ambition, some love Hufflepuff for loyalty, and some love Ravenclaw for intelligence.  I always remember how much I hated the series without even reading book. Now I adore the universe of the wizarding world of Harry Potter also Hogwarts. That day taught me don’t knock it until you try it because you don’t know how it could affect or entertain you.

My top 5 favorite Harry Potter films:

  1. Goblet of Fire
  2. Prisoner of Azkaban
  3. Half-Blood Prince
